News and Announcements

Hi All,

The deadline for our winter registration is December 8th (this Friday!). That means we are in the last week of registration and if you haven’t already, you need to get signed up!

Please remember that if you are purchasing a USA hockey registration for this season, the system will need a day or so to update with your number so you can get registered.

If you don’t get signed up before the 8th, we cannot guarantee you a spot in your tier of choice.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at

Thanks and see you on the ice!

A Few Reminders as We Enter Playoffs

Posted by JAHA Webmaster at Nov 7, 2023 1:47PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Hello JAHA,

Playoffs have just gotten under way for the fall season and I wanted to take a minute to send out a few reminders as the games get under way.

1) JAHA Specific Playoff Rules: Playoff games will be 3 12 minute stop time periods (there is no run time during regulation play during playoffs) . After the end of regulation, there will be a 5-minute run time Overtime period. After this period, the game will go to a best of 3 shootout. If no winner has yet been determined, the game will then go to sudden death best of 1 shootout. Please recognize that game start times will potentially be delayed slightly especially on Sunday nights.

2) Playoff Schedules: We, as a board, will do our best to get playoff games on the schedule as we learn the results of previous games, but we can’t get all of them because we can’t always have people at the rink. You, as a team, should keep your teammates in the loop when they miss games so they know when to play next.

3) Chin Straps: We’ve received notice from JHO that players aren’t doing an adequate job of following USA hockey rules regarding helmet chin straps. The rule reads as follows: “Players in the Adult classification must wear a hockey helmet (including non-HECC approved) with chin strap properly fastened.” For a violation of this rule, after a warning by the Referee, a misconduct penalty for an equipment violation shall be assessed to the offending player. Officials have been giving players a lot of leeway in this area but have requested we remind players about this rule. If chin strap use does not improve to an appropriate level, officials will begin issuing misconduct penalties.

Thank you to those of you who made it this far, and I’ll see you on the ice.

Hello JAHA,

As the title states, we have opened up registration for our yearly holiday jamboree tournament (a mixed skill “for-fun” tournament played round-robin style in the first 2 weeks of December), and our winter 2024 season.

The link to our registration page is below. If you are new to registering for JAHA, please take the time to read our registration page in its entirety. It outlines the registration process and several solutions to issues you might encounter along the way.

If you are a longtime veteran, you can use this link to jump straight to the registration site.

A final note; please be aware that Active will attempt to market you Active Refund Protection and Active Subscriptions. YOU DO NOT NEED EITHER OF THESE SERVICES TO PLAY IN JAHA. We offer no-contest refunds, and nothing we offer involves an Active subscription. Please make sure you do not accidentally purchase these, as you will have to go through Active customer support to get a refund.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at

Thanks and I hope to see you on the ice!
