JAHA has league rules that govern how games are played. These rules and associated penalties are in addition to all current USA Hockey rules and requirements.

The JAHA Board has adopted amendments to the rules that have been in effect for the past several years. We highly encourage you to read the rules and become familiar with them prior to the upcoming season. Major changes are as follows:

- Slapshots are allowed in Tier A.

- A minimum of a half-shield face mask is required in Tier C.

- Players penalized for their first fighting offense will be automatically penalized with a 2-game mandatory suspension in addition to the 1-game suspension required by USA Hockey. A second offense will incur a mandatory 5-game additional suspension and any further offenses will be dealt with by the JAHA Board. Egregious violations, regardless of which offense, may incur more severe supplemental discipline.

- An ineligible player (i.e. one who has not registered and paid with USA Hockey OR JAHA) who participates in a JAHA game must serve a 5-game suspension before being allowed to play in future JAHA games and the team representative who allowed the player on the ice must serve a 1-game suspension.

The rules may be found by clicking here.

Thanks much and see you on the ice!

— Commissioner Soza
