The second day will run from 9am – 1:30pm and will be followed by a mandatory on-ice session at the rink. Contact Jack Gregson (463-5154) or John Stone for more information.
2. The officials fee will increase from $69 per game to $75 per game this year.
3. The new JHO/JAHA agreement will be in place before the start of the season.

D. Treasurer’s Report

1. JAHA currently holds approximately $20,000 in its bank account.
2. During the Fall 2007 registration period, JAHA received approximately $72,000 in dues. This figure includes members who registered for both the Fall and Winter seasons. This number will be used as a baseline estimate for moving forward with planning for the upcoming season.
3. Since CBJ will now be involved in the administration of the league, including the collection of dues, close coordination and accounting will be required. The Treasurer will be working with the rink over the next few weeks to develop procedures to ensure accurate accounting.
4. The following procedure has already been agreed upon with CBJ. The credit card machine at the rink is owned and operated by CBJ. This year, JAHA members will have the option of registering at the rink and paying by credit card. In order to eliminate the need for CBJ to transfer those payments to JAHA, member dues that are paid by credit card at the rink will be credited directly to JAHA ice-time costs.
5. A review of past operating costs was conducted. In summary, JAHA’s primary expenses include ice fees, JHO fees, USA Hockey fees, facility rental costs for the banquet, tier championship and individual player awards, and storage rental fees.
6. Ice fees this season will be $175 per hour. We anticipate 187 hours of season ice time and 40 hours of tournament ice time for the Winter 2008 season. This comes to 227 hours of ice time at a cost of $39,725.
7. The following motion was put forward. The Treasurer will investigate the possibility of hiring a local accounting firm to assist with IRS/non-profit requirements and other accounting issues as needed and present her findings at the next meeting. The motion passed.
8. The following motion was put forward. The JAHA dues for the Winter 2008 season shall not be increased from last year. The motion was tabled, to be re-opened upon the completion of the Registration Report.
