The regular meeting of the JAHA Board was called to order at 5:30 pm on August 14, 2008, in the Mendenhall Library by Colin Osterhout.

A. Agenda

1. Election of new officers.
2. Discussion of outstanding issues to be addressed by the new board.
3. New issues.

B. Approval of Minutes

C. Election

The following candidates were nominated:

President – Val Martinez
Vice President – Joe Geldhof
Treasurer – Christy Baseden
Secretary – Matt McGuan
Tier A Rep – Brian Drew
Tier B Rep – Thomas Fletcher
Tier C Rep – Scott Sell
Women’s A Rep – Vacant
Women’s B Rep – Vacant

No position was contested. The proposed slate was approved and elected by the unanimous consent of all members present. Colin Osterhout will serve as Immediate Past President.

D. Outstanding Issues

1. The PO Box keys need to be collected from the previous board members. Colin will take care of this.
2. Val and Christy will meet with the past treasurer, Alice Porter-Foley, for the hand-over of the accounting and banking information.

E. New Issues

1. Registration – The plan is to have registration up and running by August 25. Registration details, including pricing and schedule, will be worked out at the next meeting.
2. The following issues were identified as possible agenda items for future meetings:
- Team sponsorship by local businesses.
- The number of women’s tiers.
- Enforcing the USA Hockey Code of Conduct and general discipline.
- Defining the roles of JAHA and CBJ in the administration of the league.
- Keeping members involved and attracting new players.

F. Agenda for Next Meeting

The agenda for the next meeting will be posted on the JAHA website.
