Hello JAHA,

The Scott Cares adult hockey events are this Friday! Registration is still open and there are still spaces to sign up and participate! The adult hockey portion of this event is 3 ice times allocated for pickup-style adult hockey that take place this Friday (September 29th). The rink has offered up the ice time so all proceeds from registration will go to the Scott Cares foundation.

Please see the registration flyer and get signed up! This is for a great cause and I hope to see some of you there for some great Friday hockey!

Registration Instructions:

1) Visit https://fundraise.scottcares.org/juneau
2) Get set up with an account
3) select the ice times you would like to register for.

Please note that the wording on the registration portion says “required” isn’t accurate. It is a recommended fundraising amount, not a required amount before participating.

Thanks all and I hope to see you on the ice Friday night!

-Andrew Dimond, JAHA President.

Tonight's games are CANCELED

Posted by JAHA Webmaster at Sep 25, 2023 10:46AM PDT ( 0 Comments )

Hi All,

Due to an unsafe level of thin ice at the rink, tonight’s games (9:15 35+ and 10:30 C) will be cancelled while the rink staff works to thicken up the ice. Until we hear otherwise, it is safe to assume tomorrow’s games will continue as scheduled and these games will be rescheduled and teams informed.

Please help me out in reaching out to your team mates to ensure they know the games are canceled.

Thanks,

-Andrew Dimond, JAHA President.

We will have in-person referee seminars again this year! Please mark your calendars. The Level 2/3 seminar (returning refs), and the Level 1 seminar (new refs) will all be held on Saturday, October 21, at Centennial Hall. They are posted on the USA Hockey website and you can register now. The current schedule for the day:

11:00 – 12:30 JHO Annual Meeting (required in by-laws, all current on-ice and off-ice officials are invited to attend)
12:30 – 1:30 Lunch provided by JHO
1:30 – 3:30 Level 2/3 Seminar
4:30 – 6:30 Level 1 Seminar
7:45 – 8:45 Ice session (all refs invited; mandatory for Level 1 refs)

Attending a seminar is one of the USA Hockey certification requirements. On-line Level 1 seminars are few and far between. This is the best bet for anyone who wants to become a ref this season. Please email jhoinc17@gmail.com if you would like more info about becoming a ref.

Thank you,

To those of you who saw the last message, I didn’t realize our A-tier registration is temporarily closed at the moment. It will be reopened this evening for further registration so check back then to get signed up.

Sorry for the confusion.
