Registration Closes TODAY

Posted by JAHA Webmaster at Dec 8, 2023 12:52PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Hello All,

Here is your last reminder that registration closes TODAY to guarantee yourself a spot in A, B, C, Women’s, or 35+ tier. Looking at our numbers there are a lot of A, B, and C players who have not signed up yet and we cannot promise you space if you aren’t signed up before the end of the day today.

We’ve been seeing some additional issues getting USA hockey numbers accepted with our system. If you receive the errors “invalid USA hockey number” or “temporarily unable to verify USA hockey number” while trying to register, please see the solutions below in order of most to least likely (this assumes you purchased your number more than 24 hours ago. If you haven’t, the most likely culprit is their system hasn’t updated yet and you’ll just have to be patient).

1) Try using a different browser, or a different profile if you are using Chrome. Private/Incognito windows may work too. I had issues with Firefox signing up this season but Chrome and Edge both worked.

2) Try using a different device.

3) Try any different variations under the “player” drop down menu. Additionally, try the “new skater” option and type your name in as it was on your USA hockey registration (even if this matches a name already in the list).

4) Sometimes their system does go down. Wait a few hours and try again.

If you still cannot get it accepted, or have any other issues, please email us at juneauadulthockey@gmail.com

Thanks and see you on the ice!

Hi All,

The deadline for our winter registration is December 8th (this Friday!). That means we are in the last week of registration and if you haven’t already, you need to get signed up!

Please remember that if you are purchasing a USA hockey registration for this season, the system will need a day or so to update with your number so you can get registered.

If you don’t get signed up before the 8th, we cannot guarantee you a spot in your tier of choice.

If you have any questions, please reach out to us at juneauadulthockey@gmail.com

Thanks and see you on the ice!

A Few Reminders as We Enter Playoffs

Posted by JAHA Webmaster at Nov 7, 2023 1:47PM PST ( 0 Comments )

Hello JAHA,

Playoffs have just gotten under way for the fall season and I wanted to take a minute to send out a few reminders as the games get under way.

1) JAHA Specific Playoff Rules: Playoff games will be 3 12 minute stop time periods (there is no run time during regulation play during playoffs) . After the end of regulation, there will be a 5-minute run time Overtime period. After this period, the game will go to a best of 3 shootout. If no winner has yet been determined, the game will then go to sudden death best of 1 shootout. Please recognize that game start times will potentially be delayed slightly especially on Sunday nights.

2) Playoff Schedules: We, as a board, will do our best to get playoff games on the schedule as we learn the results of previous games, but we can’t get all of them because we can’t always have people at the rink. You, as a team, should keep your teammates in the loop when they miss games so they know when to play next.

3) Chin Straps: We’ve received notice from JHO that players aren’t doing an adequate job of following USA hockey rules regarding helmet chin straps. The rule reads as follows: “Players in the Adult classification must wear a hockey helmet (including non-HECC approved) with chin strap properly fastened.” For a violation of this rule, after a warning by the Referee, a misconduct penalty for an equipment violation shall be assessed to the offending player. Officials have been giving players a lot of leeway in this area but have requested we remind players about this rule. If chin strap use does not improve to an appropriate level, officials will begin issuing misconduct penalties.

Thank you to those of you who made it this far, and I’ll see you on the ice.

-Andrew Dimond, JAHA President.
