New to the area and I can't wait to get started. I'm a beginner with intermediate in-line skills. Just looking forward to a new adventure so any information is appreciated. I researched and purchased gear back home so I need to get on the ice ASAP. I understand the rink is closed but just looking for a time lime for next year. Thank you

Jack Gregson is one tough hombre
Once again, turning left is not my friend - this time I landed on my elbow, dislocating my shoulder in a friendly morning pickup game. Looks like I may be out for the rest of the year, crap. Playoffs? The Ice Pirates were just coming together, too...
Last year I saw Jack pop his shoulder back in during a game and keep on playing. That's old time hockey.
Big thanks to the Bartlett staff who popped it back in. Now to figure out the best way to type...

Representing Juneau in Haines Junction
Once again a team from Juneau learned where hockey was invented, but we definitely represented well. Kudos to those that made the trip up to Haines Junction this past weekend. How's this for a day in the life:
- Hockey
- Curling
- Super Bowl Party w/ copious amounts of "fire in the corn-hole" chile
It doesn't get much better than that.

Where are your priorities?
Seems like we've been getting a lot of email recently asking this: can we reschedule the games on Sunday so that people can stay at home and watch the Super Bowl game?
Short answer: No.
Long windbag answer: We'll look into it for next year, but for this year, it's not going to happen. So if you have a game on that day, during the game, I recommend that you come to your hockey game (remember: drive safe), play hard, drive home, and have your buddies fill you in on what happened during the last 5 minutes of playing time as well as what happened for the last 10 commercial breaks.
If for some reason you can't make the game, make sure you tell your team representative ahead of time so that they can plan accordingly. Team reps: you can add players up until the 9th skater, as long as it's fine by the other team rep, so you're encouraged to make sure you have enough skaters out there.
